Welcome to my blog. Thank you for reading.
For the past couple of days I have been in Milwaukee with our schools Advertising and Marketing Association (AMA), where we visited Miller Park (where the Brewers play), Mueller (pronounced as "Miller") Communications, Third-Person Milwaukee Ad Agency, and then toured a marketing museum. It was AMAzing to say the least. I learned a lot of interesting information, and I was most intrigued by the marketing strategy of the Milwaukee Brewers (even though I'm a Cubs fan).
We also stayed at the Hyatt Hotel. Can't even begin to explain how nice that was; the beds had to have been TempurPedic. Best sleep in years. The most absurd part about us staying there, is that by coincidence, BNI (which if I understand correctly is a "club" of marketers who get together and network, to learn more about what each other do) had a conference in the commons area. We were able to meet some of the people and even got a business card (doing our own networking!).
Overall, this weekend was a really great experience, and I look forward to getting a lot more involved with AMA throughout the next few years.
On a side note, prior to leaving for Milwaukee, I was informed that I got a job that I was really excited about. It is a job that is in my choice of career fields (compared to the past, doing city work and the such), and is super exciting. The countdown right now is at 5 days until orientation and training! Bring on the real world; I'm ready!
